RESPECT is the main issue and not the HANDSHAKE. Firstly the BADSFL is a FA designated Respect League and as such all clubs sign up to the Respect Program when affiliating to the league. At the start of the past seasons all referees officiating on the league received a letter, signed by the President, in which referees were asked to ensure that Respect Handshakes were conducted. It is, as previously mentioned, contained in the Standard Code of Rules which are incorporated in the league rules. It is not to the referees credit that they choose to breach the rules.
